Story
Miriama is a highly skilled editor who brings this focus to her directing. The Conservatory was conceived as a space to develop and nurture ideas and to create bespoke video content for any screen. At The Conservatory we have a particular interest in making women visible and telling their stories.
Miriama Toms
Miriama is an experienced writer, editor and director with an impressive work history. A BA in English Literature & Art History from Victoria University Wellington and a PG Dip in Museums and Cultural Heritage from the University of Auckland has allowed an academic perspective to her approach.
While based in London she worked as a freelance editor for clients such as the BBC, MTV, Lloyds Bank, Microsoft, Marks & Spencer to name a few. In Aotearoa New Zealand some notable mentions are the Young Farmer documentary series for TVNZ and the Anchor AIMS Games and Sons of Gallipoli documentary for TVNZ.

More recently directing documentary films for the Resene Architecture and Design Film Festival, "Her Blueprint, Aotearoa" has been well received by the communities it represents.
Miriama has the ability to get people to feel comfortable and at ease in front of the camera. She has a fantastic eye for detail and style which shows in the finished product. Consequently she has great client loyalty and they always want her to make more high quality content for their brands.
